Shri Mataji in Prague

Shri Mataji visited Prague eight times. During seven of these visits, She conducted one or two public programs. In a notable incident in 1993, amidst a public program in Prague and in response to interruptions from a fanatical Christian, Shri Mataji declared for the first time in the public that She was the Holy Ghost.

Throughout her time in Prague, as well as other locations in Czechoslovakia, and following the country's split into two separate countries, Shri Mataji engaged in extensive shopping in Prague and other places. She showed a particular interest in the distinctive Czech glassware and chandeliers, items that can be seen as Her gifts in many of the world's ashrams, among other purchases.

In 1991, Shri Mataji graced Prague with a special moment, permitting the offering of a Puja to her. This was a Ganesha Puja held in a modest gym in the Prague suburb of Suchdol. A photograph capturing Shri Mataji's Feet, taken during this Puja, was later recommended by Shri Mataji Herself to be in all ashrams globally. More than three decades later, yogis in Prague, strolling through the serene environs near the gym, continue to marvel at the enduring vibrations. It feels as though the puja had concluded just moments ago, a testament to the profound spiritual energy offered here by Shri Mataji during this special occasion.

Hundred Spires City

Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, is often referred to as "the City of a Hundred Spires," and for good reason. Its skyline is a magnificent tapestry of architectural marvels, with ancient domes and spires rising above the picturesque cityscape. As a city steeped in history and culture, Prague offers a unique blend of the past and the present, making it a must-visit destination for travelers from around the world.

The heart of Prague's historic charm is the Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock, dating back to the 15th century, puts on a mesmerizing show for onlookers every hour. The medieval clock is a testament to the ingenuity of the past and serves as a gathering point for visitors eager to explore the city's rich history. Nearby, the Charles Bridge, another iconic landmark, stretches over the Vltava River, offering stunning views of the city and a pathway to explore both the Old Town and the Lesser Town (Malá Strana).

Prague Castle, perched atop a hill overlooking the city, is another highlight that cannot be missed. This sprawling complex is the largest ancient castle in the world and has been the seat of power for the kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The castle grounds are home to the stunning St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, and the Golden Lane, each offering a glimpse into the city's regal and tumultuous history.

We recommend you stay on Monday and see the city.
